11 & 12 Wellington Place in Leeds are highly acclaimed commercial buildings, combining high-quality workspaces with practical, robust solutions for a modern business environment. The development is the first new-build project in the UK to achieve a certified NABERS UK Five Star Energy Rating and has received multiple accolades for its design and environmental performance, including Sustainable Development of the Year at the Yorkshire Business Insider Property Industry Awards and Major Project at the Schüco Excellence Awards.
Our brief was to deliver a comprehensive internal door ironmongery package, with the Monaghan team at John Planck coordinating a full door by door specification and schedule to meet the client’s functional, aesthetic, and compliance requirements across both buildings
With a total of 718 internal doors, the project required a highly coordinated ironmongery strategy across the different areas from tenant suites and bathrooms to the common area walkways, lift lobbies and riser/plant rooms. The solution needed to balance commercial durability with design integrity, providing a consistent look while meeting fire, accessibility, and security standards. The ironmongery finishes had to complement the interior design, with different finishes for both front and back of house areas.
JThe John Monaghan team from John Planck worked closely with the architects and construction teams to produce a full door-by-door ironmongery specification and schedule that incorporated the client’s expectations.

This project showcases our expertise in delivering complex, commercially focused solutions at scale. From specification through to supply, we ensured every door, handle, and lock met functional and aesthetic requirements. We worked closely with both the construction and architectural design teams to produce a detailed, door-by-door ironmongery schedule that fully reflected the client’s expectations and operational needs. Our collaboration ensured consistency, quality, and compliance across all areas.
The buildings now feature robust, visually consistent interiors that meet operational, security, and accessibility needs. Tenants enjoy a polished, professional environment, while building managers benefit from a system that is straightforward to maintain and secure.
