University Centre Harlow

University Centre Harlow was created through a partnership between Harlow College and Anglia Ruskin University. Around 200 students study 12 different degree courses in subjects such as bioscience, engineering, graphic design, journalism and early years education.

The building, which incorporates a 96-seat lecture theatre, video conferencing, a range of computer suites and a 116-seat performing arts theatre, provides a bright and warm environment to ease learning for students whilst also being a high quality teaching facility for lecturers.

Each floor carries a different colour scheme but the ‘Fusion’ doorsets with powder coated door frames and light oak veneers are constant throughout. Monaghan worked closely with the architectural and construction team from conception through to final delivery. The contractor, Hutton Construction, commented on the refreshingly proactive attitude of the Monaghan team and how members ensured that meetings were focused, actions clearly identified and timelines agreed.
